Tom,

Thanks for the encouragement on the blog post. Its much appreciated and will help during my career path transition I am going through right now(work at mundane corporate web job, slowly killing my passion for what I do, or take the risky leap and work on my own). In any event, encouragement from a third party is nice to have, thank you.

Now, for the CF card question. I would get 16GB and up cards. 16GB will hold roughly 48 minutes of footage (its 12 minutes to 4GB). With that said, you can only record from start to stop 12 minutes of straight footage. The file system on the CF cards is what makes this rule.

I would suggest getting an external mic to plug into the camera, or better yet, seperate audio i you can do that. The Auto Gain Control on the camera itself can mess up the audio recording because you cant control it. If you cant get by this, the audio will still be good, it could just be better by other means.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Brian...

Rush it!

Get it out, get feedback, clean it up, and then release the newer, better, cleaned-up version.

Nine months is too long between projects for a guy like you. Looking at your videos and graphic design portfolio - you have some mad skills! Be prolific! You need to share you stuff with the world.

Don't sweat perfection. Your stuff if great.

Regards,

Tom

P.S. I posted a couple of comments (without unsolicited opinions like above) over on your Vimeo account.

Rather than rush it, I plan to have it complete around fall-winter of this year so that it might help build some buzz around the time people are thinking of planning for next year's SXSW 2010.
